Dr. Giri completed her advanced clinical training fellowship in TMJ and Orofacial Pain Management from the University of Minnesota and concurrently secured a Master’s degree with her research focus on chronic pain mechanisms. Dr. Giri’s research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and she has authored chapters in the textbook, Orofacial Pain: A Clinician’s Guide, Springer Publications, 2013.
She combines a thorough understanding of dentistry, pain research, and mind-body interactions, regarding the clinical management of TMJ, orofacial pain and headache. Dr. Giri strives to provide quality and comprehensive care to her patients in collaboration with a team of clinicians including physician, physical therapist and health psychologist. This multidisciplinary approach is facilitated by her keen interest in individualized care plans, tailored to fit each of her patient’s needs – ranging from the simple to the complex.
Dr. Giri provides oral appliance therapy for patients with Obstructive sleep apnea diagnosis. She has a collaborative relationship with Sleep physicians in the community and believes that oral appliance therapy could be an effective therapeutic alternative for CPAP use. Dr. Giri is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial pain and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orofacial pain. She is also active member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
